Of course I had to look it up to see why some dogs do this. Evidently the dog thinks it is hearing another dog howl and is trying to respond. When I read this I couldn't help but wonder how scientists interviewed dogs to determine what they were thinking when they were howling...
We had gotten to the point in our lives that we didn't want any more animals. Mostly because we wanted to be free to travel. Funny that we found ourselves responsible for these guys! And funny also how they accepted us so readily. It is impossible not to like animals who want so much to like you and be loved by you!
Sometimes I see dogs that are not well taken care of, and I can't help but wonder why people have them in the first place. They have so much personality and are so vulnerable. I couldn't resist including this puppy portrait! The photo is one taken of my in-laws' super cute puppy. I have met him and he is full of life! And, as you can imagine, he is definitely one who is appreciated and loved. Lucky guy! |
